Case summary
On 12 October 2016, he was detained following a search and taken into custody on charges of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir. On 18 June 2019, he was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony. On 24 December, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by six months. On 15 February 2020, upon arrival at the colony, Dzhemadenov was placed in solitary confinement.
