On 25 February 2014, he was detained, questioned in the case about the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir cell in Bashkortostan, after which he was released. In early March, he was interrogated again, then arrested. On 10 June 2015, he was sentenced to five years and two months in a general regime colony. He was released in May 2019.
