Saveliy Frolov

Resident of the Moscow suburbs. Worked as an actor in quests and conducted training in children's fencing. In summer, he travelled to Altai - he was an instructor in parayachting and parakayaking at a charity camp for children with cerebral palsy. On 30 October 2022, he was detained at the Verkhny Lars checkpoint on the border with Georgia. Border guards found subscriptions to anti-war channels, anti-war statements in correspondence, and messages concerning the Russian Freedom Legion on his phone. The next day Frolov was arrested for 15 days under the article on petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences). On 14 November, he was again arrested for 15 days, this time under the article on disobedience to the lawful demands of border guards (Article 18.7 of the of the Code of Administrative Offences), which allegedly took the form of using a smartphone at a checkpoint. On 30 November, he was arrested for a third time for 15 days, accused of petty hooliganism, which was allegedly expressed in the fact that he swore in the street. On 2 December, a case was brought against Frolov for preparation for high treason in the form of switching to the enemy's side. Frolov had neither a ticket to Turkey nor a Schengen visa to get to Europe. Frolov's girlfriend told Mediazona that they were planning to live together in Georgia. Lawyer Yevgeny Smirnov notes that his client's correspondence about the legion took place before the bill equating switching to the enemy's side with state treason came into force. On 25 October 2023, Frolov was sentenced to six years in a strict regime colony. Frolov's friend said that letters and parcels are not delivered to him in the pre-trial detention centre, and volunteers who bring parcels are pressurised. In July 2024, it became known that Frolov was threatened with transfer to strict detention conditions (SDC) because he received the Prison Gazette, a samizdat for defendants in politically motivated cases.
