According to the investigation, "disagreeing with the domestic and foreign policies pursued by the authorities of the Russian Federation, in order to destabilise the activities of the authorities, he decided to commit a terrorist act, intimidating the population and creating a danger of loss of life, significant property damage and other serious consequences, namely the arson of the relay cabinet of the entrance signal for the odd-numbered track direction. During the night of 16-17 April 2024, having taken with him tools prepared in advance for committing the crime, including a canister of motor oil, lighter fluid and a crowbar, he reached the relay cabinet for the odd-numbered track direction and set it on fire, as a result of which it caught fire, was put out of service and subsequently destroyed, i.e. he committed arson, intimidating the population, creating a danger of human death, significant property damage and other serious consequences".
