Case summary

Olga Gämmer is mother of Novokuznetsk activist Lev Gyammer. On September 9th 2018, on the day of a protest against the pension reform organised by Navalny's local headquarters, Gyammer was leaving her home with another activist Mila Zemtsova. The police tried to detain Zemtsova, while Gyammer tried to defend her. A criminal case was initiated against Gyammer for violence against a representative of the authorities. Her son Lev Gyammer believes that the case against his mother was opened because of his activities. On 19 April 2019, Olga Gyammer was sentenced to a year and a half of conditioned prison sentence. Gyammer died in July 2019.
