Case summary

On 2 March 2016, nine residents of Makhachkala were brought to the police on suspicion of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir. Of these, Murad Valiev, Magomed Magomedov, as well as Gadzhi Ramazanov and Sharip Habibov were arrested.

On 1 March 2017, Sharip Habibov's case file was transferred to the North Caucasus District Military Court. He was charged under part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an organisation that is recognised as a terrorist organisation under Russian law). On 15 March, the verdict was passed.
