Case summary
In March 2015, he was sentenced to a 120,000 ruble fine on charges of involvement in an extremist organisation (both then and now, it was "Hizb ut-Tahrir") and incitement to hatred due to the posting of a video with the burning of the US flag.
On 13 April 2016, he was detained along with two other people after being summoned for questioning and charged with involvement in a terrorist organisation. On 22 February 2017, he was sentenced to six and a half years' probation and released from custody. On 27 July, the Supreme Court replaced the suspended sentence with a real one in response to the prosecutor's office's demand to toughen the punishment. Khusainov did not appear at the announcement of the verdict.
On 27 April 2023, he was detained in Nizhnevartovsk city and sent to a colony on 12 May.
