Case summary

On 16 January, Ionov was taken from the court, where the administrative cases of 10 and 15 January were being considered (Ionov was fined 20,000 and 150,000 respectively - for 15 January he was charged with "repeated violation" at the event under part 8 of article 20.2 of the Administrative Code, also introduced in July 2014). 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences, also enacted in July 2014), Ionov was taken back to the IAB, and from there to the prosecutor's office, where he was presented with a ruling to initiate a criminal case.

On 10 July it became known that the offences of 13 and 14 September were excluded from the case and the offences of 21 March and 11 May were added.

The prosecution demanded that Ionov be sentenced to three years' suspended imprisonment. On 21 December, two days before making his last word in court, Ionov said that he had left Russia and was on the territory of Ukraine. On 19 January 2016, he was put on the federal wanted list. In August 2016, he was granted refugee status. In January 2018, Ionov's case was returned to the prosecutor's office.
