Case summary
A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia was taken into custody on May 28, 2024, on charges of involvement in the activities of an extremist organization in connection with alleged participation in At-Takfir Wal-Hijra. Some scholars and human rights advocates believe that such an organization does not exist. On October 27, 2025, Kabardaev was sentenced to imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony.
