The reason for the initiation of a case on calls to extremism was an online post with the words "Death to Putin's orcs": according to the investigation team, it was a call for killing representatives of a specific social group - Russian military personnel. The reason for the initiation of a case on calls to terrorism was the post saying "Glory to the Russian Volunteer Corps!", justifying the actions of the Russian Volunteer Corps. According to the investigation, the facilitation of terrorism was expressed in the fact that Kalashnikov encouraged his son, who is in the Russian army on active duty, to join the RVC.

Resident of Vorkuta. In August 2024, he was taken off a train while returning from holiday with his family. He was then detained on charges of calling for extremism and terrorism and involvement in terrorist activities. The case is based on his emotion-filled online postings and a message addressed to his son, a Russian serviceman, to whom Kalashnikov sent a video of the Russian Volunteer Corps with the words "Let's go to RVC!". On May 22, 2025, Kalashnikov was sentenced to 15 years in a strict regime colony.
