Case summary
A resident of Chelyabinsk, he worked as a courier for a cryptocurrency company. No later than November 2023, he was detained and taken into custody on charges of high treason for transferring money and SIM cards to the Ukrainian security services. Later he was transferred to Moscow. According to the project "If There Was No War" from the words of Kapralov's cellmate, he said that he was "framed" by his superior, who made a deal with the investigation, and that after his arrest FSB operatives tortured him for five hours with a stun gun, "twisted his testicles, pressed on his gums with dental instruments and pressed on an old leg fracture". On 20 October 2025, Kapralov was sentenced to 15 years in a strict regime colony. The Prosecutor General's Office said the sentence was handed down by the 2nd Western District Military Court. At the same time, there is no case card on the court's website, and why the sentence in the case of state treason against civilians was passed by the District Military Court (and not the Central one at that). Perhaps this is due to the particular importance of the case, since, according to the investigation, the cards were used in drone attacks on the Soltsy-2 airbase in the Novgorod region and the Shaikovka military airfield in the Kaluga region in August 2023.
