Case summary

Resident of Dzhankoi. On 5 March 2024, he was detained, and the next day he was taken into custody on the case of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation in connection with involvement in the activities of the Islamic party "Hizb ut-Tahrir". Some human rights defenders consider the decision to recognise the party as a terrorist organisation to be unlawful, as there is no information about the party's involvement in any violent actions. On 7 November 2024, the Crimean was sentenced. The details are unknown; however, according to some reports, he entered into an agreement with the investigation, so his case was considered separately from the case of five other residents of Dzhankoi, detained on the same day.
