According to Kislov, he did not participate in the protest and, on January 23, was in the center of Barnaul looking for a pharmacy in order to purchase medication. He attempted to cross the road at an unauthorized location, as there were many people around and traffic had been blocked, making it impossible to cross the road by any other means.
