Case summary

A resident of St. Petersburg. He was prosecuted for violence against a police officer in connection with the dispersal of an anti-war rally on 6 March 2022. He was under house arrest. On 9 December 2022, the court dismissed the case, Korolev was ordered to pay a court fine. According to the defence lawyer, the reason for dismissing the case was that Korolev had made amends to the police officer and the community. However, on 12 January 2023, the appeal court overturned the decision and returned the case to the trial court. On 2 March, Korolev was sentenced to 10 months in a settlement colony. On 10 May, the appeal court replaced the term with a suspended sentence.
