Case summary
Resident of Luhansk region. Until 2016, he served in a separate security company, a unit of the military unit, which also included the territorial defence battalion, which later became known as Aidar. Since 2016, Kuznetsov worked in a farm. On 13 March 2022, he was summoned for an inspection at the military commandant's office of the occupation forces in Starobelsky district of Luhansk region. On 18 March, at the end of the inspection, he was released. Apparently, based on the results of this inspection, on 26 October 2022, the initiation of proceedings against him was refused. On 1 September 2023 (according to other sources - 6 July 2023), officers of the local police department came to him and took him to the department, saying that he had to submit fingerprints. There he was detained. The next day, Kuznetsov was taken to Luhansk and placed in an isolation centre. At the trial, he said that he had been abused to give the testimony required by the investigation. This time a case of participation in the activities of a terrorist community was opened against him in connection with his alleged involvement in the activities of the Aidar battalion. In January 2024, Kuznetsov was allegedly transferred to house arrest. On 12 December 2024, a custodial sentence was handed down, details unknown.
