According to the investigators' version, he set fire to the local military recruitment office, the arson became known on 7 May 2023. Initially it was reported that he confessed to committing the terrorist act and carried out the arson, expecting to be paid 40,000 rubles. Later, the project "Solidarity Zone" reported that at first Lazakovich was charged with damage to property (part 2 of article 267 of the Criminal Code), and confessed under this article, and there was no talk about money at all. When the charge was reclassified, the young man refused to testify. The investigation calls Lazakovich "an opponent of the SWO" and "an adherent of liberal-radical ideas". Lazakovich is also charged with desecration of dead bodies (part 1 of article 244 of the Criminal Code), the case materials, according to "Solidarity Zone", confirm his guilt on this episode.
