Case summary

A resident of Cheboksary. A criminal case on vandalism was initiated against him: according to the investigation, together with another prosecuted individual, he damaged a light installation featuring the letter Z. For this act, he had already been fined 30,000 rubles under the article on the “discrediting” of the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences), with each individual fined separately. He was placed under an obligation to appear when summoned. The criminal case was examined under a special procedure. On August 4, 2022, the prosecution was terminated, and Mikhailov was ordered to pay a court fine of 20,000 rubles. However, on October 3, the appellate court overturned this decision, and on November 18, Mikhailov was sentenced to 8 months’ restriction of liberty.
