Case summary
Resident of Kazan. On 14 March 2017, detained after a search. The law enforcers handcuffed the children in the house, and Muminjanov's eldest son was beaten. Muminjanov was arrested on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation due to his alleged involvement in the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is not related to terrorism. He has been diagnosed with hypertension, epilepsy, heart, joint and vision problems.
On 8 January 2018, a charge of calling for terrorist activity was added.
On 5 February 2020, sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony. Despite health problems, the Mordovian IK-17 does not exempt him from work and inspections.
