Case summary
Detained in Naberezhnye Chelny on 27 May after searches in the flats of alleged followers of Jehovah's Witnesses. On 28 May he was placed in custody. Accused of involvement in the activities of an extremist organisation. On 9 November transferred to house arrest. Later released on personal recognizance. On 27 November 2019, the court returned the case to the prosecutor's office, noting that the court and the defendants were provided with different texts of indictments, as well as that the principle of qualification by the investigation of the actions of the defendants under Part 1 or Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code is unclear. In April 2020, the investigation was resumed.
On 16 December 2021, he was sentenced to three years and one month suspended sentence.
