Case summary

A resident of Stavropol. Denies the collapse of the USSR. In December 2022, he was arrested for two days under the administrative article on public display of Nazi symbols (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences) because of a picture of Putin wearing a Nazi cap. After that, a case was brought against Nesonov for repeated display of Nazi symbols because of the publication of a World War II photo. Witnesses at the trial claimed that the meaning of the publication was "comparing the current government with fascism." On 16 August 2023, Nesonov was elected a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions, and on 5 September he was taken into custody. On 5 March 2024, Nesonov was released from custody. On 17 June 2024, he was sentenced to a two-year suspended sentence.
