Case summary
Member of the St Petersburg regional council of the Yabloko party. On 6 June 2023, he was detained after a search and taken to Moscow. Neustroev was sawed off the door and taken out of the flat in handcuffs. Later it became known that Neustroev was suspected of organising the activities of an extremist community (part 1 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code), dissemination by a group of persons of disrespectful information about the days of military glory (part 4 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code), public calls for actions against the security of the state, committed by an organised group (part 3 of article 280.4 of the Criminal Code). 3 Art. 280.4 part 3 of the Criminal Code), dissemination of "fakes" about the army of the Russian Federation by a group of persons motivated by hatred (paragraphs "b", "d" part 2 Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code), incitement to mass disorder (part 1.1 Art. 212 of the Criminal Code) and organisation of NGO activities that infringe on the personality and rights of citizens (part 2 Art. 239 of the Criminal Code; this charge was dropped by the court due to the expiration of the statute of limitations). On 8 June Neustroev was taken into custody as part of the case against the anti-war movement "Viasna". On 8 April 2026 he was sentenced to ten years in a general regime colony.
