Case summary

On 7 May 2012 it became known that in the village of Kosh-Agach in the Altai Republic a criminal case under Part 1, Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organisation of activities of a banned organisation) was opened on suspicion of organising a cell of the banned Tablighi Jamaat. Searches were conducted and literature was seized. Oktashev wrote a confession of guilt. On 5 April 2013, the prosecution against him was terminated.
