Case summary

On 17 April 2019, he was summoned for questioning in the case about the shelling in the village of Yandare, but Oziev was only asked about the rally against the transfer of land to Chechnya on 27 March in Magas. Oziev was then taken to court, where he was fined for 20,000 roubles under the administrative article on violation of the order of holding mass events. On leaving the court he was detained and taken to Nalchik, where he was sent to the pre-trial detention centre.

On 17 January 2020, he was sentenced to a year and seven months in a penal colony. On 6 February he was released.
