According to the investigation, from February to March 2022, while serving in the 46th separate assault battalion "Donbass-Ukraine" of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), Petruk participated in combat operations against civilians and servicemen of the DPR. "While on the temporarily occupied territory of the DPR in the village of Stepnoye, Volnovakha district and city of Volnovakha, he fired at the positions of the DPR People's Militia soldiers."
