Case summary

On June 2, 2022, an unknown person came to Pimenov's flat, claiming to bring some kind of warning. Pimenov claims that the visitor began to threaten him and even beat him. The activist responded by spraying the unknown person with the pepper spray and closing the door. This became a reason for the criminal prosecution, as it turned out that the visitor was a police officer. The warning apparently concerned a planned action in support of Alexei Navalny on June 4. On June 3, Pimenov was taken into custody. The case was initiated on the use of violence, dangerous to life and health, but the court reclassified the charge to non-dangerous violence. On September 11, he was sentenced to the 25,000 roubles fine and released from payment on account of the time served in custody.
