Case summary

On 13 April 2017, on the same day as Artpodgotovka leader Vyacheslav Maltsev was detained, Politikov's house was searched. On 10 June, Politikov was detained during a search at Maltsev's house together with other activists of the movement. The next day, the court arrested him for two months on charges of assaulting a police officer during the dispersal of an anti-corruption protest on 26 March 2017 in Moscow. On 18 September, it became known that Politikov pleaded guilty and agreed that his case would be reviewed according to a special procedure. On 18 October, he was sentenced to two years in a general regime colony. On 20 November, the appellate court reduced the sentence to one and a half years.
