Case summary
Resident of the Ulyanovsk region. Allegedly detained in June 2020 on charges of organising activities of an extremist organisation due to involvement in the activities of the Islamic movement Tablighi Jamaat. Its adherents are persecuted solely because of their religious activities. He was on a recognisance not to leave the country. On 13 April 2022, Rafikov was sentenced to six years and two months suspended sentence.
