Case summary

Salkin is a resident of the Ulyanovsk region. He was supposedly detained in the summer of 2020 on charges of participating in the activities of an extremist organization due to his involvement in the Islamic movement Tablighi Jamaat. Its adherents are persecuted solely for their religious activities. Salkin was issued a travel ban. On 13 April 2022, Salkin received a suspended sentence of two years and eight months.
