Case summary

Detained on 22 December 2016 together with six other people on suspicion of involvement in Tablighi Jamaat, arrested. At the trial, he claimed that after his detention, FSB officers applied "physical and psychological" pressure to him, forcing him to confess. On 17 September 2018, he was sentenced to six and a half years in a general regime colony. In 2021, the Ministry of Justice ruled that the Kyrgyz citizen's stay in the Russian Federation was undesirable for 8 years. Released in April 2022, after which he was apparently deported.
