Case summary
A resident of Elista, a supporter of the ideology of "citizens of the USSR". In May 2023, he was taken into custody in the case of repeated displaying of Nazi symbols. On 21 September Ulanov was sentenced to two years in a penal colony. On 22 November Ulanov died in custody - according to a medical certificate, he committed suicide. On 5 December, the court of appeal acquitted Ulanov posthumously, considering that in the post, which became the reason for criminal prosecution, he did not promote, but, on the contrary, criticised Nazi ideology.
