Case summary
Student of the Lobachevsky Institute of Biology and Biomedicine of the Nizhny Novgorod State University (NNGU). Detained on 4 February on charges of using violence against a representative of the authorities at a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on 23 January 2021. The next day the court chose a measure of restriction for Zhilin in the form of a prohibition of certain actions. Under pressure from the trade union committee of NNGU, he refused a lawyer from OVD-Info, pleaded guilty, and agreed to special procedure court hearings. On 18 March he was sentenced to a fine of 30 thousand rubles.
