Full wording of the charges
According to the investigation, on the night of 1 July 2023, the defendant, while on a bridge over the Sviyaga River in Ulyanovsk, "committed public acts to insult the religious feelings of believers": he trampled the Koran, poured alcohol on it and then threw it into the river. He had filmed all this and later published a video on the Internet, in which he had accompanied his actions by saying that the Koran is a "dirty book" that should be "thrown underfoot" and "trampled with old boots".
