Case summary

A Crimean Solidarity's activist. On 27 March 2019, his house was searched. The next day Abdulkadyrov was detained in Rostov-on-Don. The same day he was taken into custody on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation. Later Remzi Bekirov, who was detained with him in the same case, said that they were beaten during the arrest, then taken to the forest, where they were beaten again, and then taken for six hours in handcuffs fastened behind their backs, threatened and intimidated along the way. He was sent to a pre-trial detention centre in the Rostov region, later transferred back to Crimea. In March 2020, it became known that Abdulkadyrov was also accused of preparing to overthrow the constitutional order.

On 12 May 2022, he was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony.

In February 2024, it was reported that Abdulkadyrov has not been able to go for walks in prison for four months because he has not been given out shoes. The defence lawyer reported that his health condition was significantly deteriorating in detention.
