Case summary

Resident of Bakhchisarai, construction worker. On 11 May 2016, a case on participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation was opened, on 12 May Abiltarov was detained on suspicion of cooperation with Hizb ut-Tahrir, and on 13 May he was taken into custody. He was also accused of preparing for a violent seizure of power. On 24 December 2018, Abiltarov was sentenced to nine years in a strict regime colony. On 11 July 2019, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by three months. On 11 February 2025, Abiltarov was released from prison.
