Case summary

Resident of Makhachkala. Participated in an action against mobilisation on 26 September 2022. He was soon detained and taken into custody on charges of using violence against a police officer. According to defence lawyers, Akhmedkhanov suffered bodily injuries after his detention. In March 2023, the investigation reclassified the charge to causing minor harm to health out of hooliganism, considering that since the policeman was in civilian clothes, Akhmedkhanov and the other defendants in the case could not have known that he was an official. After the charges were reclassified, Akhmedkhanov was released from custody.
