Case summary
A resident of Makhachkala. He was accused of using violence against a representative of the authorities in connection with a protest against mobilisation on 26 September 2022. The other defendants in the case claimed to have responded to the screams of a girl whose phone had been stolen during the rally. In the theft they suspected a certain person, who, as it later turned out, was a police officer (he was in civilian clothes at the rally). In March 2023, the investigation reclassified the charge to causing minor harm to health out of hooliganism.
