Case summary
A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia. On 6 December 2023, he was detained and then taken into custody on charges of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation due to his alleged involvement in At-Takfir wal-Hijra. Some human rights activists believe that no such organization exists. In February 2025, an official statement was published, according to which Albotov was sentenced to two years in a general regime colony. Presumably, he was released in April 2025.
