Case summary
A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia. On 6 December 2023, he was detained and then taken into custody on charges of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation due to his alleged involvement in At-Taqfir wal-Hijra. Some human rights activists believe that no such organisation exists. In February 2025, an official report was published reporting that Tokov was sentenced to two years in a general regime penal colony. He was reportedly released in April 2025.
