Case summary
A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia. On December 6, 2023, he was detained and then taken into custody on charges of participating in the activities of an extremist organization due to his alleged involvement with "At-Takfir wal-Hijra" (some human rights activists believe that such an organization does not exist) and possession of weapons. In February 2025, an official statement was published, according to which Salpagarov was sentenced to imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony for a term ranging from two and a half years to three years and one month (exact information is unavailable).
