Resolution on bringing Nikolai Bachin as an accused states that he "voluntarily joined the activities of the 'ATVKh' (at-Takfir wa-l-Higra), took an active part in meetings of this organization where he discussed activities of this religious association and also engaged in interpreting religious literature on the ideology of the 'ATVKh.'" We (note by Memorial) do not have the court orders on bringing the other defendants in the case of the 'ATVKh' as accused. Still, Memorial assumes that they state the same thing.

Full summary
Resident of Bashkortostan. On 25 May 2021, he became a suspect in a case of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation due to his alleged involvement in the organisation At-Taqfir Wal-Hijra, the existence of which some experts call into question. Ildar Abdurakhmanov, whom the investigation believes to be the organiser of the cell, claimed that he and the other defendants were "forced to confess" to involvement in the organisation's activities by threats and blackmail. Gayanov was on his own recognisance not to abscond. On 23 September 2022, he was sentenced; the details remain unknown.
