Case summary
Resident of Moscow. Late in the evening of 26 November 2013, detained together with twelve other people during a raid on the hostel where he was living at the time. Accused of preparing for a terrorist attack in the "Kirgizia" cinema.
Human rights activists believe that there is no convincing evidence of his involvement in the crime; in their opinion, the persecution was part of a campaign to pressure Muslims.
On 22 April 2016, he was sentenced to eleven years in a strict regime colony. Supposedly, he was released in November 2024.
