Case summary

Detained on april, 20, 2020 before a rally against Covid restrictions held in Vladikavkaz. Chirkinov was detained for 15 days under an administrative offense on disobeying orders of a police officer. Later in became clear that Chirkinov was charged with a criminal offense on hooliganism on a rally, then he was accused of organizing mass riots. On July 19, 2022 the Court of Rostov-on-Don sentenced him to eight years of maximum security labour camp. In early 2023 Chirkinov was pardoned and sent to a war with Ukraine, where he was captured.
