According to the investigation, "in 2015, while in Dnipropetrovsk, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the terrorist community Dnipro-1. The said formation took an active part in military actions aimed at forcing the residents of Donbass to roll back the decision on self-determination. In the spring of 2022, having been mobilised on the territory of Ukraine, he arrived to take part in combat operations in the town of Rubizhne of the Luhansk People's Republic. He had firearms and ammunition for them, which he used during combat duty".

Full summary
Citizen of Ukraine. In March 2022, he was mobilised into Ukrainian Armed Forces together with his son Roman. In April of the same year, they were both captured by the Russians, after which a case was opened against them for participation in a terrorist community and illegal possession of weapons. At the trial Didyk said that he agreed to sign all interrogation protocols because the investigator promised that in this case he and his son would be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war and thus they would both be able to return home. However, the exchange did not take place. On 14 December 2023, Didyk was sentenced to eight years in a general regime penal colony.
