According to the investigation, the Ufa Marxist circle, which Efimov attended, was planning a violent overthrow of the government. Efimov was also accused of making public calls for terrorist activity due to his statement about the need to overthrow capitalism. The investigation considers Pavel Matisov, a member of the circle, to be the organizer. As evidence of preparations for an armed seizure of power, the investigation cites three texts and two videos published on VKontakte between 2019 and 2021. In one of the videos, the circle's program is read aloud, and in the second, a member states that Russia is "occupied by capitalists" and calls for the overthrow of capitalism. A participant in the meetings, Sergei Sapozhnikov, who filed a report with the FSB about the others, claimed that they discussed, in his presence, how to obtain weapons "with the use of violence."
