According to the investigation, he was the organiser of the Ufa Marxist circle, which was planning a violent seizure of power. Evidence of preparations for an armed seizure of power, the investigation considers three texts and two videos published in "VKontakte" social network in 2019-2021. In one of the videos the programme of the circle is read out, in the second the participant states that Russia is "occupied by capitalists" and calls for the overthrow of capitalism. A participant in the meetings, Sergei Sapozhnikov, who wrote a statement to the FSB on the others, claimed that they discussed in his presence how to obtain weapons "with the use of violence".

Full summary
Resident of Ufa. In 2014 he fought as a volunteer in one of the battalions of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic.
On 24 March 2022, he was searched. He was sent into custody. Matisov was accused of organising the activities of a terrorist community, preparation for the overthrow of power and attempted extortion or theft of weapons.
The defendants in the case reported the use of violence during the delivery to the court, as well as the fact that the investigators put pressure in the pre-trial detention centre, forcing to accelerate familiarisation with the case materials.
According to Mediazona, Sergei Sapozhnikov, who also participated in the work of the circle and is a witness in the case, testified against the participants of the circle. According to him, the circle was preparing to seize power.
On 16 December 2025, Matisov was sentenced to 22 years in a strict regime penal colony.
