Case summary

A resident of the Baimak District of Bashkortostan. On 20 February 2024, he was detained and the next day arrested for 10 days under the administrative article on disobedience to the lawful demand of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences) in connection with the mass gathering in Baymak on 17 January 2024 in support of activist Fail Alsynov, who was sentenced to four years in prison. On 10 March, Galin was summoned to Ufa, where he was charged with participation in mass riots and use of violence against a representative of the authorities in connection with the gathering, after which he was taken into custody. On 3 March 2025, he was sentenced to five years in a general regime colony. On 20 February 2026, Galin sentence was changed to compulsory labour for the remainder of his sentence.
