Case summary
Citizen of Saint-Petersbourg. Detained on 6 April 2017. Taken into custody for alleged participation in the terrorist attack in the city's metro on 3 April 2017 - and without sufficient evidence, as posited by human rights activists. At first, he was being held at a pre-trial detention centre in St. Petersburg, then transferred to Moscow; in April 2019, he was taken to St. Petersburg like the other defendants.
On 10 December 2019, he was sentenced to 19 years in a high security prison. On 6 August 2021, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by a month.
