Case summary

A resident of Toliatti. On 23rd of September, 2019, he was detained on the street as part of a case of the activities of a terrorist organisation in connection with his alleged involvement in the Islamist party "Hizb-ut-Tahrir", which has nothing to do with terrorism. His home was searched. For three days Khairutdinov’s relatives did not know anything about his whereabouts. On 28th of September the court placed him under arrest.

On 2nd of March, 2021 he was sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime penal colony. On 17th of June, the court of appeals referred the case back. On 13th of February 2024, the court imposed the same punishment.
