Case summary

A resident of Bashkortostan. Allegedly, he was wanted on charges of participation in mass riots in connection with the people's gathering in Baymak on 17 January 2024 in support of activist Fail Alsynov, who was sentenced to four years in prison. On 24 April 2024, Iliasov was detained in Ufa and severely beaten, which left him in a coma. He was sent to a hospital where he was put on a ventilator. On 26 April, Iliasov regained consciousness. He was due to be discharged that day, and he planned to go to the police station in Baymak, where he was summoned before his detainment. On 28 April, Iliasov was taken into custody. Later it became known that he was also charged with using violence against a representative of authority. On 19 March 2025, Iliasov was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in a general regime colony. On 2 March 2026, the sentence was replaced by restriction of liberty.
