Case summary
An activist with Crimean Solidarity. On 27 March 2019, he was detained following a search and taken into custody the next day on charges of participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation. He was sent to a pre-trial detention centre in Rostov region, later transferred back to Crimea. In March 2020, it became known that Karimov was also being charged with preparing to overthrow the constitutional order. On 11 January 2023, he was sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime penal colony.
